Better Me for Girls

Better Me for Girls

In northeast Thailand, many girls face pressure to leave school early to earn money. PND meets them where they are, before this fork in the road. Since opening our Ubon office in 2011, we’ve equipped more than 43,000 girls with the tools to plan ahead, stay safe, and protect their futures.

Our Better Me for Girls program began as a single workshop. Today, it’s a series of four in-school sessions delivered over the academic year designed to introduce financial literacy, future planning, reproductive health, and self-protection at a critical stage in girls’ lives.

In a country where these topics are rarely taught in public school classrooms, our curriculum fills a vital gap. After attending, 97% of girls feel more confident in navigating danger, and 93% better understand how to find safe educational and career paths.

This early investment creates ripple effects. Girls who believe in themselves stay in school longer, avoid dangerous work, and raise their expectations for what’s possible.

Donors and partners help us expand this work by reaching more schools, more girls, and more futures ready to be written. Donate now to deepen our impact in regions where opportunities for girls are often limited.

Before this, I thought I had to leave school to support my family.

Now I know there are other ways.”
